Every company can make changes to minimize their environmental footprint. It’s good for the earth, saves money and fosters healthier, happier employees.
Green Operations
Our company produces great ideas, so our energy consumption isn’t high to begin with; however, we believe that everyone can take steps to reduce their carbon footprint. On a day-to-day basis, we:
— Purchase paper with recycled content
— Print double-sided
— Turn down the thermostat
— Use real glasses, plates and silverware instead of disposable
— Recycle office paper
— Replace paper hand towels with washable cotton washcloths
— Use eco-friendly cleaning products
Green Remodeling
Last year, Clareo conducted a renovation project to create our beautiful new office space. This provided us with a unique opportunity to make smart, energy efficient choices and use earth-friendly renovation methods including:
— Using mostly natural light in our offices
— Replacing traditional light bulbs with energy saving CFL light bulbs where possible
— Installing Energy Star appliances
— Using low-VOC paints
— Selecting tile-based carpet made with recycled content and non-toxic adhesive
— Moving walls instead of demolishing and rebuilding
— Installing water-efficient plumbing
— Replacing leaky windows
— Installing a more efficient heater
Carbon Neutral Commitment
We have made a substantial commitment to become carbon neutral.
We actively do what we can to cut down on energy consumption and the rest we offset by purchasing carbon credits through TerraPass who then funds clean energy and carbon emissions reduction projects throughout the U.S., including wind power, farm power, and landfill gas capture.
We chose TerraPass because it’s a for-profit organization, and we believe that long-term scalability and sustainability of environmental conservation hinges on social entrepreneurs like TerraPass–doing well, by doing good.
Clareo can proudly say that through reducing consumption and purchasing offsets, our offices, cars and travel are all carbon neutral.
